OMG

Okay, im a HUGE fan of The Cool Kids, and just saw that The Cool Kids are going to be performing at Parklife (This is BLOODY AWESOME). Now The Cool Kids are one of my fav artists right, they got some madd random beats mixed with old school tunes and their style is sick! Originally an underground duo their stuff is being noticed and coming to Australia for the second time round.

Now everybody should hear and listen to The Cool Kids, their stuff is CRAZY, composed of Mikey Rocks and Chuck Inglish this duo manages to take hip hop to a whole NEW LEVEL. Their covers are creative and unique and hella retarded and random, as too are their songs. They be styling in skinnys, and resporting BMXing, this group aint nothing but HECTICK!

Everyone should go Parklife just to see this group perform because they are DOPE!

Passion for Fashion

Okay so i LOVE fashion and photography, anything werid, out there, over the top, themed or hot i love. I also love taking photos and what not, now every so often imma share pics that i love and show madd photography, poses and models. Fashion and music go hand in hand so it is only fit that i add lil sumthin sumthin with the fashion. (If you know any great photography sites, you have great photos send them to be posted up or have your own featured blog.) Below are a few pics that i love and think are madd with their intensity, poses, colour and overall madd photograph.

Calling Out

After googling concerts in Australia and Sydney i found that many of the mainstream artists such as Neyo, Beyonce, Florida, PCD, and Lady Gaga had concerts planned for 2009. Now i think that both business wise and musically this is a wise decision, because they generating a marketing opportunity here in Australia where they can entertain their fans whislt getting money but they are also increasing their musical awareness. When the PCD concert was on all Channel V, and various radio stations were talking about or playing was PCD. Now all these artists i have great respect for because they are bothered to travel more than 12 hours for too perform for, these artist consider and count Australia worthy of performing to and not neglecting. Some may say its business i say its a smart considerate move of Australian fans.

Now i know Australia isnt the most up to date country with music, we don't play Drake, Trey Songz, The Roots, Lil Wayne and Pleasure P on our radio's, we don't know who Teeyana Taylor and The Cool Kids are
(More info on these artists will be featured on the blog) but Australia definately has a knowledgable underground fan base. Now in order for all of you to understand the music scene in Australia it is mixed a variety, now im not speaking for the entirety of the nation but what is mainly heard is a mix of pop, somewhat clean hip hop, a few dance tunes are beginning to break out there and commercial rock now there is nothing wrong with that its just that i personally want to hear more RNB, Hip Hop and Rap.
(Now if you agree or disagree with me or anything i have said in the post leave me a comment.)

In Australia we have a heavy dance/techno/trance fan base
(Which i love and am into also) walk into clubs and find all this music playing with people dancing to this lyricless and electric music for hours on end surrounded by glow sticks and people doing the gabba (form of dancing). Now walk into a hip hop and rnb club and depending on who you got DJing you just hear the same old tunes, a few new songs may be chucked into the mix though generally its common mainstream songs that everyone knows and loves its the safe option.

Now i havent been clubbing in America, though i have heard their radio and i have heard a few DJ's doing their stuff such as Living the Life Jermaine Dupri
(and for those of you who don't know who he is he is producer/artist with songs in his belt such as Getcha and Step on my J's if you havent heard these songs CHECK EM OUT) and their music scene is the shizz man, maybe because its fresh and mixed but their music is a collaboration of music that are dancable, musical anthems and grindable. Check out Living the Life and become a lifer on Youtube, interesting and funny stuff, also educates you on the likes of Brian Cox and Johnta Austin. So im getting to my point which is RNB and Hip Hop music in the clubs needs to freshen up, needs to mix it up, and make every club you at JUMP!
So this is pretty much a calling out to all Hip Hop and RNB DJ's to step yo game UP!

Secondly, If more artists were to come down under to Australia, and acknowledge their current fans as well as develop more that artist is without a doubt going to grow within Australia. Australia is an isolated nation, that has a music base that is very unique and mixed yet easily able to introduce new and great music, so what American Artists i especially love
(ahem Trey Songz and The Cool Kids) need to do is come down under and scope out this GREAT country and develop and grow your fan base.
So another calling out goes to the American Artists of all genres, Come Down Under, Have A concert, or have a CD launch come and recognize your fans down under and give others a reason to know who you are and what your music is!

That's My Jam!

Loving this song by Calvin Harris at the moment 'Im Not Alone'. Its a fresh and crazy song, with beats that get you dancing and the film clip is sick too, the fact that it mixes that slow paced beginning and fades out and into the up tempo part of the song is heck!
