Awesome Film Clips

Nowadays it seems that film clips especially in the hip hop, rap, rnb music scene are lacking creativity and individuality. What happened to the crazy, outrageous, story line filled, epic film clips that took the audience into a journey along with their song, it entertained music lovers with new ways of dancing, jaw dropping dance moves or something visually that would put you in a trance. What happened to the Missy Elliot dancing videos or the Micheal Jackson movie type clip. It seems that nowadays all film clips do is put a girl, cars and alcohol into a film clip and your done. Its like they are catering only for the artist to have fun than those actually watching the film clip. However because of the lack of creative film clips those that are different or are actually creative to me get highly acclaimed. This post will show a few different film clips that i absolutely love because they are different, creative and absolutely random.

Vampire Weekend are a creative band with awesome film clips nearly all of the film clips they have at the moment are great because they are so vastly different, yet engaging and random all at the same time. They are unconventional which i love yet simple in what they do in their film clips. Definitely check out this band and their music because their film clips takes their music to a whole new enjoyable level.

Here It Goes- Ok Go



Now this is definitely one of my favorite film clips of all time. Why? you may ask. Well look at it, this film clip is beyond simple, its four guys on a treadmill, yet so entertaining. I love how they do the different movements and dance actions on the treadmill all in sync and everything. I aspire to one day try and do everything they did in this film clip with the jumping and ducking and everything. Its creative without a doubt and so out of the box which is why i love it.

All of Lady Gagas film clips. Lady Gaga has to be the only one that has maximum entertainment consistently with her different film-clips. All her film-clips are usually interwoven and connected with a time line that carries on throughout the songs. Her outrageous costumes and quirky style add to the impact and creativity of the film-clips. Her film clips are usually lengthy like Michael Jacksons clips. If you think about it the anticipation built up for the "Telephone" film clip with Beyonce is similar to the build up of Michael Jacksons "Thriller" film-clip. Lady gaga manages to make random things in her film clips entertaining such as making a sandwich. I especially love her ability to effective continue the story through the different film clips while maintaining and differentiating the different songs as their own.

Now i know that there are many more creative film clips however these are a few favorite of mine nowadays. It would be awesome if RnB & Hip Hop artists stepped it up as well and made some more creative and different film clips.

Good Vibrations is tomorrow and the lineup has changed with The Killers pulling out from tomorrows gig, which is absolutely devo! Though there are many more artists that are performing that easily make up for it.

Gym Class Heroes is also set to perform which i am pretty stoked for, because they have a few good songs and they seem like they would be heck on stage. One of my fav songs of theres is the cookie jar song!

Okay so Art Vs Science is going to go absolutely off! Especially with the song "Parlez-Vous Francais?"

Jenifer Lopez looks hot in these photos for ELLE. The last shot is my favourite shot because its black and white, thus demanding and her pose in the shot is a good angle for her body, and shows the clothing so well as she successfully uses her surroundings.

So Busta Rhymes is also in the lineup and im super psyched to see him, he is the most random, retarded crazy man that makes me die when i see his hilarious retarded film clips mainly because it reminds me of myself and my retardedness. Arab Money is one of my favorite songs of his, 1. because i can sing the chorus in arabic (mind you i did not learn the lyrics) and 2. The hilarious dance that goes with it. I will definitely be rocking the dance when he performs this song like a bloody retard because i wouldn't be doing the song justice if i didn't!

Also on the lineup is Salt 'N' Pepa! I am so excited for them to perform they are like the original old school female duo that rocked it back in the days with their straight forward, ball grabbing songs (LMAO). Their songs are classics and i know all the words to it, so their segment should go off!

Good Vibes Countdown.

So there is officially 16 days until Good Vibes, and i am so excited. So in anticipation for this epic festival i will be posting videos of artists in the lineup. Today's video is Kid Cudi's Cudderisback. Kid Cudi is one of my favourite artists of all time (No Joke), he is talented musically and is very skilled and extremely wise and a fantastic lyricist. He is literally a musical genius fitting perfectly under G.O.O.D music. When i see him at Good Vibes im going to faint and then go hard because OMFG Kid Cudi is coming to Australia!!!!

Get your gabba on adlays!

So, i have a few adlay friends who no matter where we are always gabba and shuffle to all and any music. For those that don't know what a lad is, they are generally guys that dress a certain way which is usually with TNs, Dry Fit's, Nautica clothing and bum bags. They are usually the ones that tag and usually travel in groups. This is not an accurate description by any means just a general description based mainly on my friends.

This is totally nothing to do with music but i thought this Lad description was hilarious so i had to post it: (from UrbanDictionary.com)

Lad: An australian youth subculture centred around individuals who hang out in gangs, engage in petty theft, pick fights, vandalise property and use foul language which generally involves a great deal of pig latin. Hence the terms "adlay" and "eshays". Lads generally wear white caps tilted up at the front to show the front part of their hair which is often gelled. The strap of the cap is done up tight at the back and the possibility of a rats tails or other such hair style dangling out the back is common. They can be seen wearing white polo shirts, or polo shirts of other colours with short shorts (striped parachute/tracksuit pants in winter) and trainers. Anyways, seeing my friends dance always cracks me up, though it is a good way to dance to music particularly hardstyle and techno music, because it is somewhat underground here, i plan to just share with you this very unique way of dancing known as gabba. Im quite ecclectic with my styles of music listening and liking different genres which is why i think it is important to get to know and appreciate and listen to different types of music whether it be hip hop, pop, heavy metal, all music needs to be appreciated and your not a true lover of music if your ignorant to other types of genres.

Oceans Update

As a Lifer(LTL follower) and an Ocean’s chic, Dondria’s mixtape ‘Dondria’s Duets’ should definitely be downloaded in anticipation for her upcoming album. Filled with Dondria remixes of current hott hip hop songs such as ‘Under’ Pleasure P and ‘Break Up’ Mario, her versions add an alternative sound and really compliment the song. Although they usually consist of one verse done by Dondria the mixtape is great and definitely should be downloaded. Below is also the latest video of ‘That girl’ Ocean’s 7, it is fairly rough, and homemade though that is all forgivable because I love the song and love Trey Songz.

Young Mula Baby!

So I’m back and extremely obsessed with the talent filled label currently dominating the music industry Young Money. Young Money is Lil Wayne’s label filled with up and coming raw and new talent. Lil Wayne himself is one of my favourite rappers known for songs such as ‘Lollipop’ and ‘A Milli’, but what is amazing about this rapper is his clever lyrics, articulated to madd beats and off the top off his head. With only few other rappers having such skill such as Jay-Z and B.I.G, Lil Wayne, could thus be placed at high esteem as these legendary rappers. Below is a video of Lil Wayne doing his thing for his most recent mixtape ‘No Ceilings’ a hectick mixtape that everyone should download.

Drake and Nicki Minaj are two of Lil Wayne’s prodigy’s who are beginning to dominate the hip hop scene. Drake recently signed with Young Money, a previously unsigned artist that had a song with Trey Songz ‘Replacement Girl’ before teaming up with Lil Wayne. Currently ripping it up musically Drake is a hott and talented rapper with unique and witty lyrics matched up with a bewildering ability to variate his voice. I personally love Drake’s voice and his voice’s flexibility between singing and rapping. If you are to compare his vocal sounds compare the songs ‘A Night Off’ where he sings as well as in ‘Brand New’ and compare his vocals to ‘Forever’ and ‘What you want’ where he raps. I also love his same pouting pose :P and his laid back attitude evident in different interviews. Grown from the role of Jimmy from Degrassi to this independent self earnt title of new talent Drake is definitely one of my favourite rappers out right now. Think Sydney! lets bring Drake to Sydney! He recently went to GQ ‘Man of the year’ accompanied by Nicki Minaj, both looking adorable I think they are such a cute duo.

Now with previous female rappers such as Eve, Trina and Queen Latifah there seems to be a current deficit in female rappers doing their thing in the scene. But have no fear because the Barbie Bitch Nicki Minaj is here to represent. Nicki Minaj is a sick rapper that has a madd rapping voice with unique rapping tones supported by awesome metaphorical lyrics. Known as the barbie bitch Nicki Minaj is one of two females signed with Young Money (other is Shanelle) that has taken on the rapping scene by storm and is doing a great job at ripping it up. Below is a video of Nicki Minaj ripping it up and spitting on Cypher, a BET spitting challenge between different rappers. This video shows Nicki Minaj skill and shows why I love her, with no fear and loads of talent she represents girl power within the rap scene!

Maybe A Comeback

I used to heart B2K SOO MUCH and when they broke up i was heartbroken, then when Omarion came out as a solo artist it eased the pain but my favourite of the group was J BOOG. Soon the new Bring It On will be out and J Boog and Lil Fizz is back after five years with a song called "Bounce" for the movie. Hopefully these boys will last as surprisingly the song vocally is pretty good. I heart J Boog so hopefully him and Lil Fizz will entertain us with more.
